Norway: Lower Red King Crab Quotas for 2019

The total Norwegian quota for male red king crabs for 2019 has been set  to 1,400 tons. This represents a 350 ton decrease from 2018.

- We will still take out plenty of crabs, that’s a part of our regime; however, we must also ensure we have a sustainable management of this crab, says Norwegian Fisheries Minister Harald T. Nesvik.

For female crabs, the quota is set to 100 tons, equivalent to the 2018 amount.
