Young Greenlandic author nominated to Nordic Council’s literary award

Pivinnguaq Mørch from Greenland has been nominated for the Nordic Council Literary Award 2019 for his book ‘Arpaatit qaqortut’ (The White Trainers), according to Sermitsiaq.

The book consists of a collection of nine short-stories and fourteen poems focusing on existential issues in everyday life and challenges one may face. It was published in 2015.

There are a total of 13 nominees for the award, and the winner receives a check of DKK 350,000 plus a statue. The winner will be announced on 29 October in Stockholm in relation to a Nordic Council session.
