Cameron Is Coming

Prime Minister Cameron’s visit will be the first official visit of a British PM to Iceland since the country became a republic in 1944.

British Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to visit Iceland close to the end of this month, mbl.is reports. The prime ministers of the Nordic and Baltic countries have accepted Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíðs Gunnlaugsson’s invitation to participate in the symposium Northern Future Forum in Reykjavík, October 28-29. This is the first time in the history of the republic of Iceland that a British foreign minister visits the country, according to Iceland Review.

Northern Future Forum is an informal venue for the nine nations where leaders, scholars and specialists meet to discuss selected subjects. This will be the fifth time the Forum is held, but leaders have previously met in the UK, Sweden, Latvia and Finland. The subjects this year are creative industry and innovation in public management.
