A crew filming Star Wars: Rogue One has lately been working by Hjörleifshöfði and Hafursey in South Iceland, according to RÚV. Truenorth, a production service, has been assisting the shooting crew. The service has founded a special production company, Space Bear, to oversee the project, Iceland Review reports.

Þórir N. Kjartansson, landowner by Hjörleifshöfði, says movies have been shot there before, for example Darren Aronofsky’s 2014 film, Noah.

Þórir doesn’t know whether this is indeed a Star Wars film, only that filming has been done in many locations and preparations have been in progress for a long time. The whole project is veiled in secrecy, he reports, routes have been closed to preventing people from photographing shooting locations.
