The new Spielberg film, based on the Roald Dahl novel "The Big Friendly Giant", will be filmed on The Faroe Islands.

The film will be produced by DreamWorks pictures, writes Nora Region Trends. Representatives from the company has visited the country and decided that the Faroes would provide the right landscape scenery for the movie.

Filming will take place later this year, and the movie is expected to premiere next year.

Countries like New Zealand and Iceland have attracted a great number of tourists as a result of films being made there. For the Faroe Islands this is a great opportunity to benefit from this trend, and to realise the countrys movie location potential.
