The Ministerial meeting of the Canadian Chairmanship will be hosted in Iqaluit, Nunavut in Northern Canada from April 24-25, 2015.

This meeting will mark the end of the Canadian Chairmanship, and the start of the US Chairmanship (2015 – 2017).

Secretary of State John Kerry represented the United States at the Arctic Council Ministerial meeting in Kiruna, Sweden, which marked the end of Sweden’s two-year Chairmanship of the Council and the beginning of the Canadian Chairmanship.

The Arctic Council’s inaugural Ministerial meeting took place in Iqaluit in 1998.
