Police Capture Polar Bear in Reykjavík

The owners of the bear are asked to pick up the animal.

The Reykjavík Metropolitan police undertook a dangerous operation on Thursday when they responded to a notification of the presence of a polar bear in the suburb of Vesturbær.

On closer inspection, police realized that the polar bear was not alive but rather a life-sized stuffed toy, Iceland Review reports. The police nonetheless captured the bear and locked it up at the station, as stated on the police’s Facebook page.  It is assumed that the bear was abducted from its home outside a store in downtown Reykjavík.
