Peace Center to Be Established in Reykjavík

The Peace Center, which is to launch operations in the autumn of 2015, will be facilitated at the university’s Institute of International Affairs.

Mayor of Reykjavík Dagur B. Eggertsson and rector of the University of Iceland Kristín Ingólfsdóttir signed a cooperative agreement yesterday  on launching preparations for establishing a Peace Center in Reykjavík, Iceland Review reports.

The agreement was signed in Höfði, the historical building where the Reagan-Gorbachev summit took place in 1986, marking the beginning of the end of the Cold War.
