Canadian Arctic Infrastructure Success

In Canada, the one-year old 140 kilometers long road between Tuktoyaktuk and Inuvik has proven to be a massive success. The road, which is open year-round, opened one year ago following five decades of discussion and three years of construction.

The new road has resulted in an manifold multiplication of tourists, cheaper and fresher goods from the south, increased medical safety and a new hotel and restaurant that will open next summer, according to Greenlands KNR broadcaster.
