The Russian federal program for tourism for 2019-2025 features tourism in the Arctic as a separate category in an aim to boost tourism and reduce the costs involved.

According to Valery Korovkin, Head of the Directorate of International Cooperation at the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism), both the Arctic and Arctic cruises will become separate categories in the Russian tourism plan for 2019-2025.

The statement came during a conference at Murmansk International Business Week recently, according to Arctic.ru

Main priorities in the Arctic tourism initiative will be improving permits and making Arctic tourism more affordable.
