Canada's highest murder rates per capita

Nunavut’s murder rate for 2013 was just under eight times the national average.

New data from Statistics Canada shows Nunavut had the highest murder rate in Canada last year, followed by the Northwest Territories, CBN News North reports.

In 2013, there were four murders in Nunavut, down from five in 2012.

When compared against the size of the population, Nunavut’s murder rate for 2013 was just under eight times the national average.

That’s down slightly from about nine times the national average in 2012.
